Migaloo - DNA

Migaloo's DNA was collected by Southern Cross University in 2004.
These samples confirmed that Migaloo was a male according to a press release (06/10/2004).[1]
The DNA was obtained sloughed skin samples of Migaloo as he passed Ballina, Northern NSW, on his return journey to the Antarctic (2004). [1]
PhD student Megan Anderson tested the DNA samples.[1]

Southern Cross University Whale Research Centre (SCUWRC) is a cetacean research centre that was established in 2001 at Southern Cross University in Lismore, New South Wales, on the east coast of Australia.[2]
